Another huge congratulations to our UA Local 669 Journeymen Sprinkler Fitter (Installation) - Stephen Ochs. We are pleased to announce that he has completed the renewal of his Colorado State Fire Sprinkler License by passing his ACSR-2 CSA Exam. Well done, Stephen!

Did you know that in the State of Colorado to work on fire suppression systems, including installation, maintenance, repair, servicing, and testing you must carry a Colorado State License in Fire Sprinkler Systems? To learn more, click here. One way to get this license is to complete the CSA exam of ASCR-2 - Sprinkler Commercial Residential On-Site Competent Person. This exam is a tough exam that covers the following NFPA & Code Topics:

NFPA 14 - Standard for the Installation of Standpipe and Hose Systems

NFPA 13 - Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems

NFPA 25 - Standard for the Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems

OSHA Guidance on Elevator Pits + CPVC Installation

Registrants also have to provide completion of an apprenticeship program, or 8000 hours of fire sprinkler work under a registered fire sprinkler contractor.
